On 26 May, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova held a meeting with Speaker of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Wahab Abdel Razeq who is in our country on an official visit.
The discussion addressed matters pertaining to the bilateral co-operation encompassing the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas. The exceptional role of reciprocal visits and meetings at the level of Heads of State in advancing the bilateral relations was duly noted as well.
The Speakers gravitated on the essentiality of the interaction in international organisations. The joint activities and mutual support between our parliaments, especially, in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Organisation of Islamic Co-operation and Non-Aligned Movement, were mentioned with satisfaction.

Azerbaijan and Pakistan Discuss Prospects for Economic Cooperation
Azerbaijan and Pakistan have discussed the collaboration in investment, industry and energy, as well as prospects for future joint initiatives, Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijani Economy Minister, wrote on X, “Caspian Energy Media” reports.
“We were delighted to meet with Tariq Bajwa, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Minister of State of Pakistan. Our discussions focused on strengthening positive trends in bilateral economic relations, the impact of the Preferential Trade Agreement on deepening our business partnership, collaboration in investment, industry and energy, as well as prospects for future joint initiatives,” reads the post.

"Мы были рады встретиться со специальным помощником премьер-министра Пакистана, государственным министром Тариком Баквой. Central Bank of Azerbaijan expands cooperation with Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates
Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and the Counsellor to Governor Ulvin Aliyev paid an official visit to Abu-Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). During the visit he met with Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE). The two governors exchanged views on current relations between the banking and financial sectors of both countries and discussed the status and prospects of cooperation between the central banks.
During the meeting they also discussed ongoing efforts by the central banks on the improvement of regulatory and legislative frameworks pertaining to financial, banking and insurance sectors, as well as supervisory technologies, and highlighted the importance of expansion of close and fruitful relationship between both institutions.
The visit concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the CBA and the CBUAE on strengthening cooperation, the exchange of experience and information in the financial sector.
Under the MoU the Parties will cooperate on improving the legislative frameworks on banking, insurance, payment services and other areas of financial markets; the assessment of mutual integration of retail payment systems such as fast payment systems and sharing best practices-related information. In addition, the two institutions will engage in mutual exchange of expertise and knowledge, including the matters in the areas of common interest through meetings, workshops, and business visits. “Caspian Energy Media” reports, citing the CBA.
