The Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Rosatom have approved a roadmap for the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan, as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

In addition, a framework agreement was signed between LLP "Kazakhstan Nuclear Power Plants" (LLP "KNPP") and JSC "Atomstroyexport" (an engineering company of the Rosatom State Corporation). The agreement outlines the key principles of cooperation for the implementation of the project in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region.
