In January–September of the current year, Azerbaijan invested $2.038 billion in the economies of foreign countries in the form of direct investments.
Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said, according to AZERTAC.
During the reporting period, Israel was the main destination for Azerbaijan’s outward foreign direct investment, receiving $542.6 million, primarily within the framework of the Tamar gas field project. Direct investments from Azerbaijan totaled $289 million in Türkiye, $250 million in the United Arab Emirates, $176 million in the United Kingdom, and $118 million in Italy.
Over the nine-month period, foreign nationals invested $4.736 billion in the country in the form of direct investments. The United Kingdom ranked first with $1.243 billion, followed by Türkiye with $632 million, Southern Cyprus with $543 million, Switzerland with $384 million, and Iran with $272 million.
