Caspian Energy (CE): Mr. Toth, we would like to congratulate you on the huge success. Has the 22nd WPC, hosted in Istanbul, justified your hopes? Which problems did you face while organizing the event and which special positive moments could you highlight?
József Toth, President of the 22nd WPC Executive Committee: I can give you a very short affirmative answer. Yes, the 22nd World Petroleum Congress justified my hopes. I have to mention that the Turkish National Committee wanted to host a congress long before. They bid three times to get approval from the Council and finally their efforts were successful: the members of the World Petroleum Council, The National Committees decided four years ago in favor of Turkey. It was a rightful decision; the Turkish Organizing Committee did a great job to host a successful congress. I think expectations are met.
The challenge was that we had to change the venue of the Congress when we learned that the Congress would be held under the auspices of President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. And then the Turkish President invited many heads of state and energy ministers to the Congress. This resulted in an unprecedented global interest.
