Caspian Energy (CE): Your Excellency, in your speech from 2007 you said that the EU is one of your strategic goals. What do you see as the pros and cons of the probable accession of Montenegro to EU? How do you see the integration of Montenegro and EU? What will be the dominant sector of the economy?
Filip Vujanović, President of Montenegro: I do not see reasons against joining the EU. The great interest of Montenegro is to be a part of the European integration and we are fully dedicated to the accession negotiations. In total, so far we have opened 22 chapters, closed 2, and I expect that we will open the remaining ones during the next year. This year we have opened six chapters in the EU accession and, certainly, we are the leader in these negotiations. Important infrastructure projects are being implemented in Montenegro, valuable tourist complexes are being built, and in the past year we achieved the highest economic growth in the region of over 4%. We are very pleased that valuable tourist complex of Azerbaijani SOCAR has a projected construction dynamics and that it will certainly be one of the most attractive in the Adriatic area.
It is in the best interest of Montenegro to develop its overall potential and in that regard, tourism, energy and agriculture are of particular importance. In all of these areas there is a wide space for cooperation with Azerbaijan and our joint interest is to use it.
