Main gas pipelines
Following the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on complex development of the national gas programme and organisation of the gas industry infrastructure according to the up-to-date standards, Oil and Gas Construction Trust successfully continues operations on reconstruction of gas pipelines. According to the project “Reconstruction of Gazimammad-Gazakh main gas pipeline 1020 mm in diameter (I line) on section 0-210 km (I complex)”, the works between sites 114-138 km in Goychay region are at the final stage.
The works between sites 138-148 km and 170-210 km are now underway as a part of the project (in Goychay, Aghdash and Yevlakh regions). This project aims to ensure stable gas supply without losses by constructing a gas pipeline from the mountain slope in the Shirvan Plain towards the southern mountain slopes of the Greater Caucasus. The total length of the pipeline of 1020 mm in diameter is 210 km. According to the project, the construction-installation operations will be completed in 4 years. The works were launched in November 2013.
In general, during first half of 2014, Oil and Gas Construction Trust installed various diameter oil-gas pipelines with the following length: 30.90 km on piers and jackets, 21.44 km of subsea lines, 57.11 km of onshore lines, etc. Also, 143.0 km of onshore, 14.0 km of subsea cable lines and 1.0 km Air Transmission Lines were installed. Along with that, 15,258 tons of metal and steel structures were assembled, more than 9,889 welding joints were tested, production of reinforced concrete and ready-mix concrete totally reached 20,699 m3, construction-repair operations performed on piers with the length up to 1,825 r.m. and site area of 8,221m2 and laid asphalt cover up to 25,7503m2.
Baku Shipyard
It can be said with confidence that construction of the Baku Shipyard has been one of the most successful projects of Oil and Gas Construction Trust. As early as in 2011 Trust took part in the tender for construction of the Baku Shipyard and managed to win it. Oil and Gas Construction Trust (General Contractor) and Baku Shipyard LLC (Customer) signed an appropriate agreement on October 19 of the same year. Baku Shipyard is a unique project in the South Caucasus and the biggest shipbuilding facility in the Caspian countries. Total area of the Baku Shipyard bearing particular importance for the maritime fleet of the country comprises 60 ha. Total indoor production area constitutes 75,000m2. Total length of mooring bridges makes 16,302m. Annual capacity of metal production is 25000 tonnes. The opening ceremony of Baku Shipyard was held on September 20, 2013 with participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Senior Minister of State of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Singapore Lee Yi Shyan.
Oil and Gas Construction Trust is doing business beyond the country as well. Thus, Trust’s representative, engaged in construction of oil, gas pipelines and other hydrotechnical facilities, has been operating since 2006. We are also implementing infrastructure projects. Basically, these are the orders of SOCAR Georgia Gas Ltd and Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation OJSC.
At the Caspian Energy Integration Award-2014 presentation ceremony held by the Caspian European Club on March 12, 2014 at JW Marriot Hotel Absheron Baku, SOCAR Oil and Gas Construction Trust was announced the winner in the nomination “Construction company of the year in the oil-gas sector”.
Oil and Gas Construction Trust managed to achieve considerable success in introduction of new technologies. Since the end of 2012, Trust has applied electric welding through automatic and semi-automatic machines for the first time in oil-gas industry of the country.
Utilization of new technologies has considerably raised the quality of welding operations, mechanical properties of welded joints, increased melting coefficient of welding materials, as well as the substantial reduction of the physical strength of the welder (operator).
