Caspian Energy (CE): Mr. Woolsey, Former U.S. Secretary of State Ms. Hillary Clinton used to say that “nowadays the energy security matter is as actual and significant as the national security”. How perfect is the current system of energy security of the United States?
Ambassador R. James Woolsey, Chairman of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and former Director of Central Intelligence: Well, first of all I do not believe one should define energy security as limiting exports, or for an importing country limiting imports. I think that is a very bad definition of energy security. And our definition should have much more to do with whether we have other ways of providing transportation fuel alternatives to oil and also whether we have a sound and secure electric grid. And on both of those subjects I find insufficiency and the need of a good deal of work.
