Baku hosted (September 18) the session of Caspian European Integration Business Club (CEIBC) on the subject of “Entrance into WTO: advantages and disadvantages for the Azerbaijani companies”. The session was held with participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev. Discussed at the meeting were prospects of cooperation of MFA of Azerbaijan with member companies of the Caspian European Integration Business Club.
Addressing the session, Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev spoke about measures undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for protection of economic interests of the country and creation of conditions for promotion of goods and services (at international markets) produced by national companies.
Speaking about prospects of entry of Azerbaijan into the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs dwelled on aspects of negotiations with WTO members and on new opportunities that business would face after entry into this organization.
Discussed at the meeting were different aspects aiming at protection of a local producer and undertaken by Azerbaijan during the negotiations for entering into WTO under favorable conditions. He also emphasized that CEIBC has to arrange such events at least 2-3 times a year and take an active part in discussion of issues concerning Azerbaijan’s entry into WTO. In this regard, he applied to the member companies of the Club for maintaining active cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on WTI issues covering different economic sectors so that the MFA could promote rational economic initiatives aiming at establishment of favorable conditions for Azerbaijan’s entry into WTO.
Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev answered lots of questions of the CEIBC member companies.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev was presented CEIBC honorary membership certificate. New CEIBC member companies were also presented certificates. Participating in the meeting of CEIBC were executives of companies and representatives of a number of diplomatic agencies accredited in Azerbaijan.
