Implementation of the new oil strategy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, purposeful and consistent measures aimed at development of the oil industry, as well as the state care for oilmen have signalized the start of a new period of progress in this important economic sector.

In this respect, the Contract of the Century has become a leading factor for progress in country’s economy. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been playing an undeniable role in today’s economic development. Meanwhile, the SOCAR structure of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory also managed to make a significant contribution to the brightest pages of the country’s new oil chronicle. 

A number of bright and remarkable events has occurred in the plant’s life since when the Contract of the Century was signed. Among them we can especially mention reconstruction and commissioning of modern facilities and objects, construction of giant stationary platforms and their support units for assembly works in the Caspian Sea depth. 

Huge construction and assembly operations for the large-scale development of Azeri, Chirag and deepwater Guneshli fields have been carried out at the Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory.

President of Azerbaijan, Mr.Ilham Aliyev has paid several visits to our factory. The Head of State once said justly at the meeting with the factory employees that ‘If this plant had not been built in Baku during those years, the implementation of such major projects would have been impossible…” These words are simply true, since famous foreign oil companies expressed interest in cooperation only after getting familiar with the existing infrastructure.

Today, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan growing into a transnational oil company continues the high-level representation of the republic in foreign countries and, in this sense, the company’s structures are forming their activity in conformity with the world standards. 

With respect to possible opening of hundreds of new jobs as a result of major oil projects attracted to Azerbaijan, introduction of new modern technologies in industry, as well as for the purpose of more effective work in creation of a joint venture with a foreign oil company, the President of SOCAR has issued a relevant order about the 10-year lease of production areas, establishments and buildings of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory with Bos Şelf LLC. No one of the specialists and workers of these production areas lost their jobs and 1,750 employees were recruited in their production areas at Bos Şelf LLC. 

Currently, there are four service areas at the factory: the first and second service areas implement greening and landscaping measures on a considerable part of the factory. Meanwhile, the third one carries out construction and assembly tasks and the fourth is engaged in transportation sector.

Landscaping measures as well as repair and reconstruction operations were held on the highest level in the area of the factory and the territory was cleaned of production wastes. 

Introduction of international ISO standards should be especially noted among the present achievements of the Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory. The factory applies ISO 90001:2000 quality control system, ISO 14001:2004 environmental control and OHSAS 18001:1999 workers’ safety and health systems. The factory has also been registered in the IQNET-International Certification Registry.

It is worth mentioning that the priority issues of the factory’s program of activity include security of employees, food, improvement of their social welfare. We also pay a great attention to organization of effective leisure of the employees, their participation in different sport events, organization of summer vacations.

The staff of the Heydar Aliyev Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory continues its working activity with a great inspiration. We are proud that as a result of this activity many employees among our staff have received the state and SOCAR awards.
