After the republic gained its independence, our oilfield workers numbering thousands of people, who made worthy contribution to the development of our country over the past 22 years and wrote glorious pages in the history of our nation, are working hard for celebrating the forth coming oilmen’s day with well-deserved labor input.
The Contract of the Century that Nationwide Leader Heydar Aliyev worked on wisely gave a strong impulse to development of all oil industry sectors, ensured integration of our oil industry with Europe and expansion of international cooperation. SOCAR has already become a modern company worldwide.
Year by year SOCAR, the leading player of the economy of Azerbaijan, is gaining considerable success in oil-gas production growth, commissioning of new fields and production of different types of oil products. Meanwhile, it managed to find reliable partners in the world market.
In addition to all this, in order to address ecological problems inherited during many years, SOCAR commenced implementing large-scale projects within the framework of the adopted “green technology” policy and have gained positive results in this area.
Established in 2006 by SOCAR, Ekol Engineering Services CJSC took part in implementation of ecological projects of the company as a well-deserved contractor and justified all hopes. Over these years, the CJSC arranged high-level implementation of tens of ecological problems in organizations controlled by SOCAR and keeps performing this activity. Just like in previous years, Ekol Engineering Services CJSC worked for the improvement of the ecological condition in the oil industry sectors and made worthy contributions on the threshold of the professional holiday of oilmen. Through 8 months of 2013, the CJSC’s Ecological Monitoring Department (EMD) provided high quality services to client-companies in performance of monitoring, preparation of normative and technical documents and doing analytical research.
Over the relevant period of this year, EMD’s field monitoring service performed ecological monitoring at the areas of May 28th, Absheronneft and N. Narimanov OGPDs of SOCAR Azneft PA, field areas of Complex Drilling Works Trust’s Absheron Drilling Operations Department, Backfilling Department, Drilling Service and Logistics Department, field areas of SOCAR Gas Processing Plant and branch office of Balakhany Operating Company LTD in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Reports were prepared on basis of the analysis of monitoring results and presented to clients.
In 2013, EMD’s department for normative-technical documents carried out successful work on preparation of different ecological normative-technical documents for enterprises controlled by SOCAR as well as for private and state enterprises operating in the non-oil sector. The work on preparation of ecological normative-technical documents for SOCAR Azneft PA’s Neft Dashlari (Oil Stones), May 28th, Absheronneft, A.J.Amirov and H.Z.Tagiyev oil-gas production departments, for the Department on Operation of Gas Storages, Gobustan Transportation Department, Department for backfilling and oil recovery improvement, Muradkhanly enlarged oil field, branch office of Balakhany Operating Company LTD in the Republic of Azerbaijan and Star Beton Production LLC was continued at an adequate level. Ecological normative-technical documents of the representative office of Surakhany Oil Operation Company in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azkontakt LLC and AzGerneft LLC’s were prepared and submitted to a client after being approved by the corresponding agencies.
EMD’s Integrated Researches Laboratory (IRL) has this year carried out a regular research work at production areas of the CJSC and client-companies. The tasks assigned to the CJSC were fulfilled successfully. Physicochemical and chemical analysis of samples, taken during the monitoring at production areas of client-companies, was performed in conformity with procedures. Based on the analysis results, reports were prepared later and submitted to clients. In the meantime, IRL was engaged in determination of the composition of waste waters that form at production sites of SOCAR Complex Drilling Works Trust’s Drilling and Logistics Department, and Absheron Drilling Operations Department.
Over the past period of 2013, the Wastes Treatment Department (WTD) of the CJSC fulfilled contractual obligations of client-companies in due manner. More than 7 mln cubic meters of industrial and waste waters flowing from Heydar Aliyev BDWJF into the mechanical purification plants were cleaned over the relevant period. Up to 19,000 tons of oil slime appeared as the result of the production processes were utilized by means of advanced technologies. Over 8 mln cubic meters of industrial waters and up to 7 thousand tons of oil slime were cleaned and utilized at Azerneftyagh Oil Refinery respectively. Up to 100 tons of scraper paraffin supplied from AAS-EKOL LLC to the 8th section of WTD were separated from water and mechanical impurities.
Over the relevant period of 2013, up to 42 thousand cubic meters of different types of wastes (sludge, oil slime, sewage waters, oil-water and mechanical impurities, etc) supplied by the CJSC’s client companies AA Services, AAS-ATE LLC, Ecological Department of SOCAR, Khazardenizneftdonanma, Complex Drilling Works Trust, Surakhany Oil Operation Company, were cleaned by WTD in accordance with the operating procedure.
This year WTD has also been actively engaged in operations for removal of black waters from the area allocated for the construction of the Baku Olympic stadium as well as for transportation of industrial wastewaters accumulated on old production areas of oil refineries (Baku White City project area) towards the water purification plants. Owing to the efficient operation of TED, 586 thousand 319 cubic meters of black waters were removed from the mentioned project areas. 255 thousand 930 cubic meters of industrial wastewaters were transported.
Just like during previous years, TED has undertaken necessary measures for ensuring non-break production within the first half of 2013, much broader growth of service quality and environmental protection. Therefore, TED conducted maintenance work at mechanical purification plants operating in its service areas. In order to launch a new FOX-15 separator unit, produced by Alfa-Laval Company, the preparation work was carried out jointly with the specialists of the producer.
The CJSC’s Land Recultivation Department (LRD) engaged in purification of lands polluted with oil at industrial sites, planting of greenery at areas undergone rehabilitation, and landscape restoration projects provided high level service to client companies in 2013. Within 8 months of this year, LRD removed 670 thousand 288 cubic meters of land from Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery and Azerneftyagh Oil Refinery’s production sites located in the area of the Baku White City project. Over 22 thousand 665 tons of oil land polluted with oil were removed from the area of Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery workshop #1 (Boyuk Shor area) within the framework of the project commenced in June of this year.
LRD continued providing land treatment services at green areas of customers over the relevant period of 2013. Along with the seasonal work that LRD is currently carrying out at green areas, it also conducts certain activities for expansion of greenery and normal development of plants.
Ekol Engineering Services CJSC also undertakes special measures for bringing its activity to conformity with international standards. The CJSC which switched to TSE-İSO-14001 standards and received a certificate in 2007, adopted TSE-İSO-9001 and TSE-İSG-OHSAS-18001 standards received conformity certificates in 2012. In this regard, special work is implemented for applying international standards in production and adoption of these standards by the personnel.
