The Commission supports all pipelines in the EU
Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy

Caspian Energy (CE): What are your expectations from the Vilnius summit of EU? Which issues does EU plan to solve within the framework of this summit?

Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy: We have high ambitions. With several of our partners we are aiming to deliver on the most far reaching agreement we have ever had with partners, an Association Agreement (AA) including its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA); an instrument for political association and economic integration. These agreements are a very important tool to address reforms in that part of the Eastern Europe. If we will be able to sign one of those Association Agreements and initial others, for the first time we will make a quantum leap towards the real transformation in that post Soviet space. Of course, one thing is to have high ambitions and another thing is for our partners to allow us to deliver on those ambitions. The summit can deliver only to the extent to which partners are able to deliver on reforms. So, we will hopefully not only have the Association Agreement with Ukraine signed but also initialled the one with Moldova, Georgia and other countries.
