Azerbaijan implementing large-Scale  work in the transport sector

Caspian Energy (CE): Mr. Mammadov, the non-oil sector is actively developing in the country in line with the decree of the President of Azerbaijan. What role will the transport sector play in the future economic development of Azerbaijan?

Ziya Mammadov, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan managed to achieve outstanding results in the field of nation-building as well as social and economic development due to the foresight and special merits of Nationwide Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. This policy is being now followed by his successor, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Grandiose projects are now under implementation across the country. The dynamic economic development can be now observed in all areas. The social and political life of the country has entered a new stage of development and all this is happening against the background of the accelerated development of the domestic economy. 

At the same time large-scale and grandiose works are now performed in the transport sector. High techs-based large projects have been accomplished. During recent years the operation of the transport sector, which has a special value in the development of the social and economic sector of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in general is aimed at improvement of the transport system to meet competently the demand of people and economy in transport operations. The Ministry of Transport is always focused on the requirements aimed at the rational organization of works and the current situation in the transport sector. So, the Ministry is implementing activities in line with the ongoing state programs.
