Caspian Energy (CE): Mr. Prime Minister, how would you characterize the past 2012 year? What are your expectations from the 2013 year? 

Bidzina Ivanishvili, Prime Minister of Georgia: On October 1, 2012 the people of Georgia made their choice in favour of the political force that is not committed to ruling with intimidation methods. It is impossible to speak to people on the language of political repressions and at the same time try to declare universal values. On January 13 about 190 political prisoners were released from prisons. In the conditions of democracy people should not undergo punishment and humiliation only because they have a different opinion from the others.

The year 2013 has been declared the Year of Love. Love and mutual understanding is the only alternative to terror. The government should serve to a person and society. Citizens should love and respect each other instead of building relations on fear. We are the representatives of the Caucasian culture and traditions really matter much for us. Our traditions form our spiritual potential and it is impossible to build normal social and economic relations in the society without such potential. Unfortunately in recent years our citizens experienced many tragedies from wars and mass violence. People need, first of all, understanding and respect. No matter what political aspirations people have, they must be sure that in any case the government is the mechanism to protect of their safety.
